Future platforms?

Hey there,

Really impressive engine – I found that it has a well thought-out code-centric approach, and I really appreciate it. I’ve picked it up the other day, and while a walk-through of the necessary bits of examples (i.e. the logical flow of setting up the rendering, update calls, etc) would be excellent, the docs and examples are very decent.

One concern I have, however, is that the engine is strictly Windows for desktop deployment. How committed is the team to bringing it to Mac and Linux? Is there a timeline? Does Microsoft’s open-sourcing of C# change any of the plans currently in the pipeline?

Thanks for all yours guys’ time and effort!

Actually we are working on getting Paradox working on Mac and Linux (using Mono). We had a working prototype more than two years ago, but we didn’t have time to get back on it. Hopefully, the support should come in the coming beta releases

While it does not change much of our plan, this is something we are carefully following and it may affect Paradox in some positive ways and opportunities. We will let you know when we have a clearer pictures about the things getting open-sourced from Microsoft (lots of things are still missing from their public repo and will come in the coming months)
